Sheer and Dainty

Thanks to the runways, sheer fabrics are having their moment in the fashion world. And from the runways, they are now ultimately invading street style.

Wearing a sheer fabric, can be tricky, daring at times but when matched perfectly-it will be dainty.

Here are points you need to know when pulling off a cute and feminine sheer fabric.

Style Tips 101 by TFP

*One sheer piece or simply called a see-through, is what you need. Enough said. You know what I mean ladies.

*Pair it with a right undergarment. Something not too sexy. A tank top underneath is advisable.

*When donning a sheer top, remember  that they’re very eye catching, so less is more.

*Most importantly, wear it with confidence. :)

Less on make up as your sheer top can stand out. :)

Don't be afraid to be play with colors. You'll be surprised how stylish it would look like.

This royal blue skirt is my ultimate favorite! It can go from casual to evening glam and make statement by itself.

Wear a Guy's Shirt

And STAND OUT!

You're going somewhere and it's important-an event, a girls day out, shopping with your siblings, have coffee with your friends, a date. Okay, so it's time to decide what to wear and you feel like you've searched all over your closet. You're just sitting in a sea of clothes, or maybe an ocean. Came up with a conclusion that the relationship between you and your closet is not going to work. You just can't find that perfect outfit! And indeed, you are suffering from what we call "I've Got Nothing to Wear Syndrome".

This all happened or should I say happening to us in random moments of our lives. That moment when you feel like it is time to give up on choosing what to wear.

Worry no more! The Frugalista Project is here for a rescue-a fashion inspiration that you may have thought of, maybe tried or just searched YouTube for some tutorials.

Guess what. it's time to search HIS (dad, brother, boyfriend, best guy friend, husband) closet! I opted to look over my younger brother's closet (with his permission, of course) and found this amazing polo shirt which I paired with a yellow shorts.

As what we would always say, be creative! There is an edgy vibe in this outfit simply because of the shoes!

See-you do not need to go to a shopping emergency just because there's no single piece in your closet that will work.

STYLE TIP: In wearing a guy's shirt, opt to pair it with something feminine. It may be like what I did, a colorful shorts and a sling bag with a chain strap.

Cheers! Until next time! Follow us on twitter: @frugalistaproj.

Denim Top

TREND ALERT:

Denim worn as a top.

It's making a comeback and we think that it is here to stay! In fact, runways all over the world and some Hollywood actresses have been spotted with this lovely piece lately.

STYLE TIPS:

Don't overdo it, looks better if you will have one denim piece at a time.

This fashion ensemble has its own statement in an outfit. You can highlight this in your attire.

Needless to say, a denim top  is something you can consider to add up in your closet this season.

It can also score a day to night look.

Most of the time, it  looks more fab if paired with a black or white pants/shorts.

(Celebrity photos from instyle.com)

And so, I have my own "denim top" version.  :)

To be honest, I stopped wearing this piece for a while. I don't know why, I just don't feel like I can wear it. I had it hidden at a part of my closet that I do not see. I actually had it since 2005. (Maybe you can also find a treasure deep down in your closet.) There is just an event I had to attend when I wore it and I needed to check ALL my clothes. I almost forgot I have a denim top.

I added up a white belt to balance both pieces: my denim top and black pants. :)

It is just a coincidence that my bag has a denim appeal too.
I just needed an oversized bag that day so I can bring all the things I had to use.

Looks fab naman, right? :)

Confessions of A Frugalista

SALE!

I am standing  in front of one of my favorite stores, looking at these four letters. It seems so pleasant, usually in red. Seeking attention from everyone. Come to think of it, that is the word that I have been looking for ever since I stepped on this mall. Now that I see it, there is something that is telling me to look around and check the items.

Fabulous, these shoes: pumps, ballet flats, wedges, boots, stilettos, slide ons, etc (OM!) everything is on SALE.

So I thought: all their shoes are expensive but today, they have cut down the prices. Wow, this is awesome. Maybe I should buy... Oh, I need this to pair my black and white outfit for that event. It's almost Christmas, maybe it's time to buy this red pumps. I want this boots since I can wear this for my next visit in Tagaytay. I need another pair for this and that and the list goes on in my mind.

That moment I know I had to STOP. I can think of a lot reasons why I should get one and go to the cashier and pay.

Question: Do I really need a new pair of shoes? Just because  it's on sale, it doesn't mean that I have to buy, right?

I know I already have enough shoes. READ: ENOUGH. I know us girls, can relate when I say the word ENOUGH since it is a word we all try to avoid in describing our collection of shoes, clothes, bags and accessories.

What I did: I simply left the store, guilt free since I did not make any purchase regardless of the thousand reasons I have came up with why I should buy.

Fashion does not need to be expensive and we do not need brand names as well. All we need is creativity to mix and match what we already have.

Thank you for reading! I hope this helps you a lot in living frugal and fashionable.

Vintage Love

We can help it but we all get nostalgic every time there is a vintage piece that we see. It seems like we have traveled back in time, through a road  down that memory lane.

What we love about our generation is that we are all open to trends as much as we are also open for anything vintage. And it seems like vintage meets chic already. There is no excuse not to drool over great vintage clothes we can see everywhere. Yes, we can wear clothes that was a trend from a previous era but still look fashionable at this very day.

With a little bit of creativity, a simple vintage top can do magic in your whole wardrobe.

Check out Tina's love for vintage in this look:

Though with a packed schedule that day, I managed to squeeze in for what we so call, outfit shoot.

My errands that day:

                     1. Go to school
                     2. Attend my brother's opening of their gallery
                     3. Meet with my beloved ate
                     4. Go to a friend's house to borrow a costume for my upcoming futuristic fashion show. ( I will post the photos about that fashion show)

Busy-ness shouldn't be a reason to be stylish. Take it from me. :)

Vintage pieces I adore!

Frugal fashionista. Fashionable yet frugal. Period.
